The Formation
Lies and deception, a false promise of a better world is what the woman once known as Anakritis Pyr Aontaiche fought for as she bloodied the battlefields of Eorzea with those she deemed weaker than the people she served. By crushing her foes she was doing them a favor, liberating them from the chains and shackles they had placed upon themselves and only by the hand of the VIIth Legion would they be freed from the burdens they placed upon themselves. At least, that is what she thought until one day the truth was revealed to her.
Through her dedication and prowess on the field, Anakritis soon rose through the ranks and started to learn the truths behind her home and the 'Weapons' project that they were creating. Horrified by the truth, the viera's mind shattered at the thought of what she stood for, what she was fighting for, and what she was perpetuating. Knowing that a simple small act of rebellion would do nothing she instead had grander plans in mind. Taking what funds she had amassed, she used the ensuing war between Ilsabrad and Eorzea as a chance to defect to the other side. Once they were freed, the team made their way to the Holy state of Ishgard where Anakritis' ambitions were noticed by the elezen Kaldea. Wishing to extend her influence beyond her current means, Kaldea took the viera in and assisted in funding her mercenary group under the idea that they were in direct assistance of Ishgard and thus a few rules were established.
First, they would act in the name of the Holy See when they were called upon in their name and dispense justice against its enemies.
Second, they were to be watched and evaluated. A former soldier of Garlemald could only be trusted so much after all and thus, at the behest of the Holy See and to the keen interest of the Colleges of Sharlayan, an agreement was formed that would place an academician within the order's ranks. To observe, record, and report back to the Holy See any concerning acts or signs of corruption in the ranks once more, and the Colleges of Sharlayan any useful information about Ishgard at large.
With citizenship granted to her, Anakritis shed her title and now acts as the head of the Crimson Revelation swearing that innocent lives need not suffer at the hands of brutes any longer.
